Cleaning catastrophe

For some reason I had the urge to clean today. Now if you know me, you know that I'm not the cleanest or most organized person... but for some reason I had this sudden urge to clean my bathroom (or my side at least!) After searching the laundry room for cleaning stuff, I headed upstairs with some cleaner and a hand full of old rags. Only when I got to my bathroom did I realize that I had grabbed about 10 rags instead of 3 like I thought. Good thing tho, because I needed a lot!
First job was clearing and cleaning the counter/sink. First I soaked the entire counter in water from an water bottle I didn't drink all of. The first rag was used to wipe it all up along with lots of the dust and soap on the counter. I ended up just making a big wet/soapy mess! Time for the second rag to dry off my mess. After reading the instructions on the cleaner I determined the best way was to just dump out the stuff directly on the counter and then wipe it around with another rag before using yet another to dry it off. I think it worked. :)
Next was the shower! We have this spray bottle stuff to remove all the nasty iron from our water that stains the shower. I'd seen my mom do it before, so I felt pretty confident. It wasn't until after I was standing in the shower spraying the walls that I remembered that my mom wore shoes and gloves for this job... So I decided to read the instructions! yep... it suggests wearing gloves to protect skin from the stuff... all well too late. The other thing about the stuff is that it smells and you are not suppose to breath in the vapors. So you can imagine how I was sticking my head out of the shower, taking a breath, then scrubbing like mad while holding my breath before again taking another breath. Very inefficient to say the least, But now the shower is clean and white! Take that, you iron! Now if only the smell would leave the bathroom and my room...
Third, as I've been typing I realized that I forgot to put dishwasher soap in the dishwasher earlier... oops. All well, I wanted to wash them a second time anyways!
Finally, I was going to vacuum my room, only to realize that the vacuum doesn't work :( After calling Mommy for help she tells me to take off the end and look up the tube for a clog. Sounds easy right? Only problem, I could not figure out how to take the thing off for the life of me. I guess my floor will get cleaned another time, and until then the vacuum will continue to sit in the middle of my room as a constant reminder.
Well there goes my dream of becoming a maid... I guess I'll just stick to nursing after all. Moral of the story: I need to hang out with my grandmas more so I can learn how to clean correctly!
